The spirit behind Third Generation Capital, LLC. started in 1943 when Ken Burrell met Lorna Moore on a blind date that started at the fabled corner of Hollywood and Vine in Los Angeles. They married, had three sons and helped the South Bay of Los Angeles grow for the next 60 years. The Burrell family has been involved in real estate for generations. Ken and Lorna's son, Tim Burrell, grew up surrounded by construction, sales and financing real estate. He had a journeyman carpenter's card at the ripe old age of 9, worked his way through UCLA Law School as a carpenter and became a trial lawyer for real estate litigation. Tim has been one of the top Realtors in America for over 30 years. Tim's daughter, Laurie Burrell Hughes, joined him as a Realtor during college and became his partner on the South Bay Home Team, one of the top teams of Realtors in Los Angeles. Laurie has more degrees than a thermometer, a Bachelor of Arts from Pomona College, an MBA, two other masters degrees (one from Harvard) and a PhD. The three generations of real estate have evolved into buying and selling notes, creating seller financing and providing loans for those left behind by institutional lenders.
